The Human Library: GirlsInICT Day, Codette Project and Angels of Impact

The "Human Library: Girls in ICT" was held to have women already in ICT (web & software developers, UX designers, marketing & more!) be books that can be 'read' by 4-5 readers per session as role models and source of inspiration. During the reading session, books and readers there was amazing engaging dialogue and people were able to address misconceptions or questions about being in ICT. The event was moderated by Ms Atika Amalina and started with opening address from Nurul Hussain, founder of Codette project and Laina Greene, founder of Angels of Impact. Keynote address was from MS Ho Siew Fay, Director of Global Services at Cisco Systems.

This was an amazing opportunity for young women of all disciplines to explore the use of tech in their careers through successful female role models who break away from traditional stereotypes to achieve their goals.

Our goal in Singapore is to have young women, especially minority women, be aware of career opportunities in ICT. We also want to show how people of various fields can pursue a future in this field.
