" REACHING the UNREACHED: " Workshop on Basic ICT Tools and Blogging Techniques(for Girls at Humla)"

This program was targeted to 150 girls at extremely remote region of Nepal at Province no 6: Simikot, Humla, Karnali Pradesh, Simikot, Humla, Karnali Pradesh(Province no 6), there is no roadways. So, geographically it was difficult to reach the place.

The event was conducted for 3 consecutive days (with additional two days) of feedback receiving and empowerment. There was the participation  of female schools/colleges teachers, local entrepreneurs and mostly girls student of schools and colleges. All of the participants effectively participated in 3 days workshop. 

In the program from first to last day government entities, policy maker were present enthusiastically, since as they shared this was first ever program on technology in the district and in remote place like Humla. Chief District Officer(CDO), District Education Officer, Gaupalika(a like Municipality in remote area) Chairperson, Social Entrepreneur & Activist were present.

The impact of the program was that the girls(students), woman(teacher, local entrepreneur) can make their digital presence by creating and accessing email, writing their own blogs sharing theirs stories and problems. They were able to acquire basic technical knowledge from zero level A community among themselves was established in the leadership of a female teacher named Manju, which is going to conduct such activities know as teaching-learning process and if needed they will ask for assistance to the organizer. An organizer, SICT Nepal is following them up for their progress and supporting them. 

At last, all the participants with respect thanked the main organizer ITU and its mission, after knowing the agenda and finding out the difference of technical learning in their life. 

The impact and feedback of the woman at Humla was also published by Nepalese various medias and newspaper-National Dailies.
