DevelopHer- ICT Girls in Albania

In behalf of Girls in ICT Day, on 26 April 2018  DevelopHer- Girls in ICT Albania event will be held by the initiative of EESTEC Tirana  and M&M Ivanaj Foundations.

The aim is to empower, encourage and tell the girls that there is no limit in what they can accomplish.

Main target will be high school girls 15-18 years old. We all are aware how difficult it is to decide on what to study in university.  Although we are living in 2018 out there still exists that outdated stereotype that "ICT degrees are only studied by boys". Through this event we would like to present some success stories of Albanian females who made an impact in technology, women which made it possible to have great success in "a male dominated area". By listening to these stories these young high school students could be inspired and why not follow their passion so they can show everyone that females CAN.

Girls will have the opportunity to ask the panel of successful women or ICT university students.  There will be discussions on ICT Careers, the importance of Cyber Security and different ways of how girls can help each other.

After the discussion it will be held a workshop focused on the topic of programming an app.
