• Girls Got IT Seventh edition is taking place in June 2018 in Lebanon.

•‘Girls Got IT’ initiative seeks to encourage young females to explore and venture into the realms of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Through customized programs, hands-on work- shops and events, young females are invited to delve into the world of innovation, meeting with the country’s brightest and most accomplished entrepreneurs, startup founders and professionals.

•The aim of ‘Girls Got IT’ is to break the cultural stereotypes that surround women in STEM subjects by expos- ing young females to essential technology skills, allowing them to meet inspiring role models and learn more about the various success stories from their country and the world. In addition, the initiative seeks to support the technology start-up ecosystem in Lebanon and the respective countries where the initiative is implement- ed. One subsequent effect is enhanced job creation and integration of women in these fields. Lastly, ‘Girls Got IT’ has been designed to empower the youth and turn them into engaged citizens, able to be positive contribu- tors to their society

.•‘Girls Got IT’, is a joint initiative between five Lebanese NGOs, led by Lebanese League for Women in Business (LLWB) in collaboration with the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE), sponsored by UNICEF and funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
