Universal Service Fund, Girls In ICT Day4/25/2018Asia & pacific, Pakistan, Prime Minister's Secretariat, Islamabad, Pakistan170 participantsMinistry of IT & Telecom through Universal Service Fund is running ‘ICT for Girls’ program since 2015 to bridge the gender digital divide which is paving the way for socio economic uplift of this very important segment of our society. The primary purpose of the program is to provide ICT facilities to increase the employability potential of the girls in Pakistan, so that they are financially empowered to take care of their families and themselves. Under this program over 125,000 female students will be trained annually on 21st century super skills focusing on coding, computing, coaching and communication. Girls in ICT Day celebration will take place at the Prime Minister Secretariat. Prime Minister of Pakistan “Shahid Khaqan Abbasi” along with the Minister of IT “Anusha Rehman” will also address the event. The event has been organized to appreciate and empower the women of Pakistan in ICT for their achievements and passion to be a part of our growing technological society. In collaboration with Huawei, USF will distribute 150 tablets among women who have shown potential in the field of ICT and are motivated to take the next step towards success to bridge the digital gender gap. |
