Training on "Web Programming" to girls by Plan International Haiti

More men than women have access to the internet and information technology in all regions of the world. On Girls in ICT Day, we’re highlighting the digital gender gap, and what action needs to be taken globally to address it.

To mark the day starting 21 to 28 April 50 girls from the West department of Haiti will receive a training on "Web Programming". Why is it important for girls to trained in ICT? In Haiti it's almost a belief that Computer programming is "men affair", Plan International Haiti wants to deconstruct that mentality and show to the world that girls have the power to do what they want and feel like doing. They just need to be educated to do so.
