To mark Girls in ICT Day 2018 on April 26th Plan International will focus on girls as creators of technology and digital solutions. Without girls’ and women’s perspectives reflected in the creation of technology and digital tools we risk creating tools and solutions that reproduce and perpetuate existing gender inequalities (e.g. sexist Artificial Intelligence), as well as fail to address issues and challenges faced particularly by girls and women.

a2i, (Access to information is a special programme of Bangladesh Prime minister office which catalyses friendly public service innovations simplifying government and brining it close ) and Plan International Bangladesh will host a solution-oriented workshop on Thursday, April 26, that will bring together key stakeholders to identify how to (a) address gender inequalities in the creation of digital tools and technologies and (b) increase girls’ and women’s access to and use of digital tools and technologies (to reduce the digital gender gap).
