This year the "Girls in ICT Day" will be celebrated in 25 April at the "Centro de Ensino Médio Setor Leste” in Brasilia, Brazil.

This activity will be an excellent opportunity to encourage girls to choose a career in the information and communications technology area.

About 50 girls between 16 and 18 years old from a public high school (CEM- Setor Leste) will be encouraged by successful women of the ICT sector, from science, education, government, industry and civil society. These professionals will share their knowledge and experience as well as their road to success.

They were encouraged to break down some of the stereotypes concerning girls and women working in traditionally male dominated ICT sector.
