This year the "Girls in ICT Day" will be celebrated in 27 April at the "Universidade Nacional de Brasilia" – UNB in Brasilia.

This celebration will be an excellent opportunity to encourage girls to choose a career in ICT.

About 120 girls between 16 and 18 years old from a public high school (Centro Educacional do Lago Norte) were encouraged by successful women of the ICT sector, from science, education, government, industry and civil society shared their knowledge and experience as well as their road to success.

 They were encouraged to break down some of the stereotypes concerning girls and women working in traditionally male dominated ICT sector.
