ORGANIZATION FORMATION

2016 -The organization was started by a group of young Liberians. (Founders) for the purpose of bringing relief to the less fortunate and the vulnerable girls/young women of Liberia for Economic empowerment through ICT training, leadership training, life skills development and advocacy for girl’s empowerment through financial aids for education.

 ORGANIZATIONAL STATUS

Girls In ICT -Community Dialogue Forum hosted by Youth IGF-Liberia is a gender equity initiative aim at providing a platform to encourage adolescent girls to take up career in ICT, develop their skill in I T related courses also create awareness on the need to girls to be in ICT as well study STEM course in schools in Liberia .

This project is also to empower adolescent girls and young women in Liberia to not look at ICT as for male but also a course with huge potential to study to help in the development of Liberia .

PROGRAM BENEFICIARIES 

The has direct beneficiaries –It is expected to ensure that directly adolescent girls selected for this event will learn about ICT, inspire them to take up ICT related course in areas such as coding , programing , tech –photography , videography  skills, that for only adolescent girls and women from need communities in Liberia , and also vulnerable adolescent girls with close support from government institutions working with adolescent girls and young women in Liberia . This will also target drop out girls , adolescent mothers , vulnerable girls , single young mothers . Indirectly we hope the program will and direct beneficiaries of Girls in ICT-Liberia program

 Girls In ICT -Community Dialogue Forum 2018 

Will be an annual event, and expected to be dynamic in implementation, for this year 2018,we will  focus in the areas of a summit that will have working groups –and speakers to speak on topical issues affect the low interest of girls in ICT in Liberia , as well how much effort have been put in to attract adolescent girls to study STEM subjects in Liberia . This will be a daylong event with sideline event focusing on digital literacy for girls in Liberia.

Skills training for economic empowerment, advocating for young and vulnerable teen mothers and women Right, ICT training, Vocational and Technology education, Lifelong program, young woman Education, School based Awareness Campaign, on issues that affect girls, education Outreach Programs, scholarships provision, and campaign on domestic violence and sexual gender based violence against young women.
