ENEL Global ICT, International Girls in ICT Day 2017 event4/27/2017Europe, Italia, Rome, RM, ItaliaInternational Girls in ICT Day 2017 event Enel Global ICT Rome, Italy, 2017, April 27 As technological innovation becomes pivotal to future development, growth and progress, both in social and economic spheres, there is a pressing need to stimulate the interests and studies of the new generations in this direction. For many years the Enel Group, together with international organizations and partnerships, has been supporting activities and initiatives which, in line with the aspirations of Open Power, invests in the young, in their ideas and start-ups. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the agency for the United Nations are also dedicated to introducing young people to the study of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. They are the promoters of the international "Girls in ICT Day", an initiative that Enel Global ICT celebrated with an event, on April 27th, at Enel's Rome Auditorium. The guests at this meeting opened by Head of Global ICT Carlo Bozzoli included: • Francesca Di Carlo, Head of Human Resources and Organization at Enel; • Paola Girdinio, Board Member at Enel; • Silvia Stellato, Head of Development and HR Business Partner ICT Global Functions, Italy and Key People at Enel; • Francesca Devescovi, Head of Diversity & Inclusion at Valore D; • Cecilia Nostro, Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer at Friendz; • Barbara Poggiali, Head of Strategic Marketing at Poste Italiane; • Giulia Decina, Co-founder Girl Geek Dinners Lazio; • Federica Palma, Co-founder Studio Tangram; • Livia Di Nardo, Director at Junior Achievement. Young girls of high school, about 150, participated to the Enel event. Young students listened to the testimonies of women attending the event, shared their ideas, asked about career paths in the ICT world, moreover, together with girls working in Enel ICT department, they have been involved in building an "emotional wall" with paper boxes, on which, each of them wrote their fears, obstacles in dealing with scientific studies to work in the ICT field. At the closing of the event all together broke the "emotional wall", overcoming figuratively the fears and obstacles. |
