The CIS department in the College of Sciences and Information Systems and the computing society/The RHU ACM Student Chapter have organized for the second time the Girls in ICT DAY event on Tuesday April 11, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM in the MEA Conference Hall. The event strated by a welcoming note from the Dean of the College of Sciences and Information Systems, Professor Mohamad Al Ladan, followed by keynote speeches given by professional women holding key positions in the ICT field in Lebanon.

The event aims to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of Information and Communication Technologies. This gathering is part of an international event organized by the International Communication Union (ITU) which is the leading United Nations agency for information and communication technologies.

It is worth noting that RHU is the first institution in Lebanon that is an academic member in this international union, and it is organizing this event for the second year
