JU Srednja ekonomsko-ugostiteljska škola, Practical workshop4/20/2019Europe, Montenegro, Niksic, Montenegro25 participantsIn school, JU Srednja ekonomsko-ugostiteljska škola, Nikšić, Montenegro, Olivera Lucic coordinated the activities within the Days of Girls in ICT. Approximately 25 girls participated. Recognizing the importance of these dates, we have conducted a series of activities in the school aimed at increasing the motivation of girls and girls to choose future professions in the STEM area as well as in the field of technology. Teacher Oliver Lučić held a series of workshops with second grade students on this topic and motivated girls to participate in the national competition of girls in ICT. "What we will become depends on how much we are doing, but also from the conditions in which we work. Equal inclusion of both sexes, which is crucial to the progress of science itself, as it is important to combine different disciplines, natural and social sciences". The teacher also suggested that a school-level database be formed that wants to cooperate and contribute to this initiative and that girls and girls, through mentoring programs, projects, meetups, and hackers, promote and approximate occupations that change the world in order to they motivated themselves to opt for the natural sciences and professions of the future in the field of technology. Opinions are different but the conclusion is the same. Women and girls should be given space in science and technology because they can contribute to raising them to higher levels!
