Training on Agritech Using ICTs, Organized by MDES (Thailand), NBTC (Thailand), ITU and FAO

In 2017, as part of the  International Girls in ICT Day celebrations, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES), Thailand and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) launched a capacity building program aimed at imparting employable digital skills to more than 100 female students (in 2017) in Thailand in partnership with CISCO (Thailand), Microsoft (Thailand), and (FAO). This program continued in 2018 and till date more than 350 girls have been trained under the program through 7 trainings. Several partners including NECTEC, CCKDM, UNESCO, DTAC, GIC (AIT) have joined in and extended their support. 

In 2019, the first training is taking place from 8-9 May 2019 at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Regional Office for Asia-Pacific, Bangkok. The theme for the training is “Agritech Using ICTs”. It is organized by the ITU, MDES (Thailand), NBTC (Thailand) and FAO, with support from UNESCO, CCKDM, NECTEC, CISCO, GIC (AIT) and Huawei.
