CANTO & the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) hosted a two-day Girls in ICT Workshop 2019 titled “Tech Savvy Girls!” on Thursday 25th April and Friday 26^th April, 2019 from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm at the Authority’s Head Office located at #5 Eighth Avenue Extension, off Twelfth Street, Barataria.

 

This year, the workshop was facilitated by GSMA, the trade body that represents the interests of over 1200 mobile network operators worldwide. GSMA will work closely with sixty Form 3 and Form 4 female Information Technology students from San Fernando East, San Fernando Central and Pleasantville Secondary Schools to gain hands-on experience in Coding and Artificial Intelligence (AI) by developing their tech-savvy skills in building and programming a Google Toolkit.

 

Students also participates in a mini-career exhibition that feature the nation's telecommunication Operators, Regulator, government Ministries with Responsibilty for ICT and tertiary education institutions with a focus on their ICT programmes of study.
