St Joseph's Primary school and the STEAMettes

4/25/2019

Europe, United kingdom, Broadstairs, UK

The girls are 9 years old and call themselves the STEAMettes. They have their own Facebook page with all their exploits! (The STEAMettes)

I’ve attached a photo of the girls working on a Scratch project on the day. Also the girls wrote some digital animations for the Astro-Pi (a Sense Hat on a Raspberry Pi) which were for an astronomy Art Exhibition called Cosmic Sublime in Margate (https://piefactorymargate.co.uk/exhibition/lumen/)
Each of the five girls did their own animation - Alice did a rocket launch, Caitlin did the Planets of the Solar System, Cecilia did Name that Constellation, Gracie the Life and Death of our Sun and Natalie did a Black Hole swallowing a galaxy! I’ve attached a couple of screen shots, one shows the Cancer constellation and the other the black hole swallowing a galaxy. The other photo shows Alice and Gracie and her little sister with the gallery organiser Melanie King. They are wearing their Raspberry Pi t-shirts.We have the parents’ permission for the photos.

It was amazing! For more information contact the school on 01843 861738.
