This year's International Girls in ICT Day is to empower and encourage girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the slums in Ghana.

 GirlyTech will commemorate the day with a blend of hands-on experience, class room learning and mentorship session  with female  leaders in the ICT industry to open participants eyes to their possibilities. 

We started  the day with presentations from   female speakers in the field of ICT  on the History of women in Tech and why more women must  be inducted in the Tech.  The participants will then be placed into groups to identify problems in the society and come up with solutions to their problems with hands-on training   in;

Scratch Programming to build interactive stories and  games in a fun and collaborative ways 

Arduino Programming.

Participants came up with problems in the agricultural and health sector and came up with brilliant solutions. The two groups that won will be mentored by GirlyTech. 

The participants 

There would be quizzes and ICT competitions for participants and deserving participants will be awarded. 

There will be a panel discussion with females in the industry. The panel will share their experiences and inspire the participants to pursue careers in Information Technology. The panel discussions will be themed "My Technology Journey"
