School Assembly Talks : #GirlsInICT4/24/2019Asia & pacific, Maldives, Maldives400 participantsAssembly Talks are a series of talks/ speeches given by various member of Women in Tech Maldives and employees of participating organizations. A special speech was given in the school assemblies across the Maldives ( 25 schools). The speeches were directed at spreading awareness about Girls in ICT day, opportunities in the industry and to inspire young minds to consider ICT as a career. It also included a generic bio of the speaker a generic bio of the speaker to show that she is a girl working in the ICT industry and to show what she has been doing in the ICT Sector. The speech highlighted the importance of the day, explanation of the theme, remarkable women in ICT, current state of ICT and examples from the industry and career opportunities. The speech was also translated to the local Dhivehi Language where the speaker was given the option of choosing between Dhivehi and English. The speech was delivered by the Women working/studying in the field and women who are working for the ICT Companies.
