Govt. Women ITI Kolkata, International Girls in ICT Day Celebration4/24/2019Asia & pacific, India, 2/1, Anil Maitra Road, Ballygunge Place, Ballygunge, Kolkata, West Bengal, IndiaInternational girls in ICT( Information and Communication Technology) Day, an initiative backed by all ITU Member States in ITU plenipotentiary Resolutions 70, aims to encourage and empower girls and young women to consider studies and careers in the growing field of ICTs, enabling both girls and technology companies to reap the benefits of greater female participation in the ICT sector. This honourable day had been celebrated at Govt. Women ITI Kolkata on 25 th April, 2019. In this auspicious occasion we had the opportunity to meet our honourable guests from our department and NIC. To carry out the event we had the following guests:- Sri Paritosh Das – D.D.I.T, , Govt. ITI Gariahat Sri Becharam Ghosh – Principal, Govt. ITI Gariahat Sri Bidyut Mondal – A.D.I.T. ,Govt. Women ITI Kolkata Sri Madhurja Moy Das – A.D.I.T. , HQ. Sri Pradip Chopra- Chairman, IMC of Women ITI Kolkata Sri Sammayabrata Mullick – S.P.I.U., P.B.S.S.D., T.E.T. & S. D. Dept. Sri Kirti Swagat Mohanty- Developer & Trainer , N.I.C. Smt. Riya Dey- Programmer , N.I.C. Smt. Munmun Karak- - Programmer , N.I.C. All the teaching and non-teaching staff along with trainees of all Trades of Govt. Women ITI Kolkata including girls from Govt. ITI, Gariahat had participated in this event. Total programme was held in two halves. In the first half the programme started with the Welcome Address which was proceeded by our honourable ADIT Mr. Bidyut Mondal. After this a powerpoint presentation was shown by Smt. Riya Dey in which she had explained the importance of ICT day, Its basic functionalities , Its benefits and Its impact on our society . After this presentation , a general discussion on Recent trends in Technology was given by Sri Kirti Swagat Mohanty. He shared many aspects of ICT including Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security. The next session of the first half was addressed by Smt. Munmun Karak. She explained in details about application of ICT by Govt. of West Bengal, which had initiated on making different successful projects by our government like Utkarsh Bangla, Sabooj Sathi and Kanyashree. The impact of all these successful programmes had generated an interesting image among all trainees. Then there was a lunch break followed by second half session . It began with the valuable speech by Sri Pradip Chopra . Then a general discussion on “The importance of Girls in ICT day and its impact on the society “ was made by eight different group of trainees from all trades in a competitive manner. Best three groups were awarded First , Second and Third prize. The whole session had a positive and motivating impact on all the trainees and hence this auspicious occasion was indeed a successful event in the 1 sense. |
