Description of the event
|
UNDP Serbia together with partners, organised 2 events to encourage girls and young women to consider education and careers in ICT. At Ložionica, 50 primary school students from Belgrade explored an innovation hub and took part in an interactive cybersecurity workshop, where they learned how to protect personal data, recognise online threats, and safely navigate the digital world. A second event at the Palace of Science brought together 60 secondary school students from Belgrade, Obrenovac, and Ruski Krstur in cooperation with the ‘ZORA’ Network of Women in ICT. Through parallel sessions, participants explored AI-powered application development, including the concept of “vibe coding”, and discussed career opportunities in gaming, digital products, and the wider ICT sector, as well as challenges and opportunities for women in the industry. A joint cybersecurity session introduced students to careers in information security and the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals. Designed for different ages, the events combined practical learning, interaction with women in ICT, and hands-on activities to build digital skills, confidence and interest in pursuing future careers in ICT.
