Description of the event
|
In conjunction with International Girls in ICT Day 2026, with this year's theme "AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future", the Authority for Infocommunications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) organized a one-day workshop titled "Girls in ICT: Exploring AI and Future Technologies" on 23 April 2026. The event was held in collaboration with Brunei4AI and UniALUMNI (UBD) as the facilitators and was attended by 132 Secondary School female students from Year 7 to 9 nationwide.The workshop introduced students to Artificial Intelligence (AI), AI Ethics, Google Teachable Machine Demo and Vibe Coding through interactive activities and hands on group discussions. The students develop solutions to the problem statement provided using Google AI Studio and presented their ideas to a panel of judges. Through this initiative, AITI aims to inspire more girls and young girls to explore opportunities in ICT and emerging technology, as well as to gain knowledge and skills to become future innovators, leaders and decision-makers in the digital societies.
