National Telecommunication and Technology Institute (NTTI), established in 1974 under the directive of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) by the Ministry of Communications and Technology of Federal Republic of Somalia, in collaboration with Arkaan Leadership and Innovation Hub, proudly celebrated International Girls in ICT Day 2026 in Mogadishu through a major technology-focused event attended by the Minister of Communications and Technology, the Minister of Education, and participants from various educational institutions across Somalia, bringing together more than 600 young women.The celebration followed two days of intensive AI training for female students under the theme “AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future .” The program focused on empowering Somali girls with digital skills, innovation, and leadership opportunities in the field of technology.The event featured interactive discussions on Artificial Intelligence, digital transformation, and the growing role of Somali women in ICT, while all participants were recognized and honored for their commitment and active participation.#GirlsInICT2026 #Somalia #NTTI #AIforDevelopment
