Description of the event
|
Since 2022, TELCOR has participated in the commemoration of the International Girls in ICT Day, reaffirming its institutional commitment to promoting the inclusion of girls and young women in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).In 2026, under the theme “AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future,” the initiative aimed to empower participants and encourage their interest in pursuing academic and professional pathways in technology-related fields, highlighting their role in digital transformation.The activity was implemented as a Technology Immersion Day, targeting schoolgirls from public educational institutions and daughters of TELCOR staff, in coordination with the Ministry of Education of Nicaragua.The program included integration activities, a robotics workshop, and hands-on STEM sessions, fostering technical skills, creativity, and teamwork. Participants were supported by TELCOR mentors and evaluated based on creativity, confidence, and collaboration.At the end, certificates and educational incentives were awarded, recognizing their active participation in this capacity-building initiative.
