MindAfrica Leadership Initiative held an event to commemorate the Girls in ICT Day 2026 under the global theme, “AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future.” The objective was to inspire, empower, and encourage young girls to explore careers in ICT and STEM fields.The event featured two sessions. Session One focused on knowledge sharing and exposure to emerging technologies, including a keynote presentation titled “AI: Your Co-pilot, Not Your Replacement,” which introduced Artificial Intelligence as a tool that supports human productivity. Participants also learned about Xami, a robotic dog used for industrial monitoring and production efficiency.Session Two provided hands-on practical workshops in Arduino Programming, animation/Design using Piskel, M-Bot assembling, and computer hardware assembly session called “Take It Apart” . These activities strengthened creativity, confidence, and problem-solving skills.A total of 51 girls participated and gained foundational digital skills, awareness of AI, and inspiration to pursue future careers in technology
