|
The 2026 observance marks ten years of structured regional Girls in ICT programming under the CARICOM Secretariat. The 10th anniversary is significant because it signals a new operational model that strengthens national ownership, reflecting the Action Plan’s emphasis on sustainability and distributed leadership. The 2026 event will feature:• A hybrid regional showcase with live cross-CARICOM participation, enabling schools, teachers, students, and families across the Community to connect, share experiences, and celebrate youth innovation in real time;• A Member State student-led STEAM Innovation Showcase, where students, guided and supported by teachers and mentors, present original projects, reinforcing the role of educators as facilitators of creativity, inquiry, and applied learning;• In-person and virtual exhibitions from industry partners, universities, and government agencies, alongside interactive spaces for teachers and parents to engage with emerging technologies, understand digital and STEAM career pathways, and gain practical insight into how they can better support students’ interests and talents.
