Description of the event
|
GovTech Agency observes International Girls in ICT Day 2026 under the theme "AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future." The observance brings together GovTech employees for an internal programme centred around powerful voices and personal stories. The highlight of the programme is a series of addresses by distinguished women leaders, including a motivational address by the Director of GovTech Agency, and personal journey talks by women ICT officers sharing their lived experiences in the field, the challenges they overcame, and the milestones they achieved. The programme also features a keynote address by the Secretary of GovTech Agency and a video message from the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau Director. A full-page awareness feature is published in Kuensel, Bhutan's national newspaper, on 22nd April to extend the message of International Girls in ICT Day to the wider Bhutanese public. Awareness is further amplified through posts across GovTech Agency's official website and social media platforms, reaching a broader audience beyond the office. The event reaffirms Bhutan's commitment to bridging the digital gender divide and building an inclusive digital future

GovTech Agency staff gathered in Hall A on 23rd April 2026 to collectively observe International Girls in ICT Day 2026, under the theme "AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future." Staff came dressed in the theme colours of purple, blue, white, and maroon, reflecting their collective spirit and commitment to celebrating women in ICT and building an inclusive digital future for Bhutan.
