Description of the event

The Girls in ICT Day – “Meninas que movem o futuro digital da CPLP” is an online event dedicated to promoting the active participation of girls and young women from Portuguese‑speaking countries in the ICT sector. Scheduled for 23 April 2026, from 15:00 to 16:25 (Lisbon time), the session will open with an institutional address by Dr. Leonilde Tatiana Santos, President of ARME and ARCTEL‑CPLP.The program includes two thematic panels. The first, Generative AI: Risks and Ethics in the Digital World, explores the ethical and social challenges of generative artificial intelligence, promoting conscious and responsible use of technology among young women. The second, Leadership in Technology: Skills that Empower Women in the Digital World, presents the interpersonal and strategic skills that drive female leadership in ICT, illustrated through real examples of women working across CPLP countries.Speakers from ANATEL (Brazil), National Social Security Institute (Cabo Verde), and other invited speakers will share their perspectives and experiences. The event aims to inspire, inform, and empower participants to explore opportunities in the digital field and to foster gender equality.
