Description of the event
|
Internet Society Zimbabwe (ISOC Zimbabwe) will host its International Girls in ICT Day 2026 Webinar on 23 April under the global ITU theme "AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future." The 90-minute online event brings together secondary school girls, university students, young professionals, and women leaders across Zimbabwe and the diaspora for an intergenerational conversation on AI, digital inclusion, and what it means for girls to shape and not just consume technology.The programme features a keynote address by Yemurai Rabvukwa (STEM Babe, UK-based Senior Cybersecurity Associate and TechWomen100 awardee), a panel of three women representing academia, civil society, and the tech industry, and a unique spotlight segment where young Zimbabwean women share their negative and positive experiences in digital spaces. The event is free, fully virtual, and open to the public.
