Description of the event
|
Association of Business Women in Serbia (ABW) has been organizing Girls in ICT Day for 16 years, starting on April 28, 2011. The initiative motivates girls to pursue their interests and talents without being limited by gender stereotypes when choosing a career.Key Activities of the Event:1. Company Visits - During the event week, students visit ICT companies, as well as businesses owned or led by women. These visits provide firsthand exposure to professional environments, networking opportunities with women entrepreneurs and managers, and insights into diverse career paths.2. "Catch the Idea" Competition – Since 2016, girls from registered schools participate by creating and submitting innovative projects. This year, the competition focuses on creating projects using Python code, block programming, or other creative digital solutions. 3. Closing Ceremony & Awards – The best projects will be recognized at a special ceremony celebrating the creativity and effort of participants. Over the past 15 years, more than 11,700 girls have participated in the program.
