Description of the event
|
Faculty of IT and Student organization of the faculty are organizing the celebration of the International girls in ICT day for the 4th time, through a competition in digital competences. This year initiative is designed to strengthen the role of teachers and mentors in empowering girls to engage in STEM, particularly in ICT. It is structured in two phases.The first phase focuses on targeted training for teachers and mentors, equipping them with practical knowledge, tools, and guidance to effectively support and motivate female students. Through this approach, teachers become key drivers of change, transferring knowledge and confidence to their students within their schools.The second phase is a two-day competition, taking place on April 23-24, 2026. On the first day, teams of high school girls work collaboratively on a given challenge, applying their digital and problem-solving skills. On the second day, they present their solutions to a professional jury, which evaluates their work and selects the best teams.This model ensures both sustainable impact through teacher capacity building and direct engagement of girls in a supportive, competitive, and inspiring STEM environment..
