Description of the event
A free seminar session aimed at female high school students who are keen in maths/science and are perhaps considering a career in engineering and STEM. You will hear from 3 local female engineers who will share their stories on why they chose engineering as a career, and how their work is important and rewarding. There will also be representatives from UoN and TAFE to provide information on courses and tertiary education. An opportunity for Q & A is provided after the presentation.LEARNING OUTCOMES:-Understand the diverse career pathways in engineering by hearing real world experiences from female engineers working across different industries. -Gain insights into the daily life, responsibilities, and impact of engineers, helping students visualise what an engineering career looks like. -Build confidence in exploring STEM and engineering pathways by asking questions and learning about tertiary study options from UoN and TAFE representatives.Session can joined online (link provided upon registration) or in person at the Engineers Australia Newcastle office. For those attending in person the session will be followed by post event networking, refreshments and goodie bag.
