Themed “AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future,” WaGiTECH 2026 is a transformative initiative designed to bridge the gender gap in technology through the philosophy “Empower Her to Empower Others.” In collaboration with the National ICT Innovation Hub, the program aims to turn 250+ young women into expert mentors who will, in turn, empower 2,500+ girls across 50+ institutions. Participants engage in a comprehensive curriculum covering Emerging Tech (AI, Data Literacy, IoT, Robotics), Digital Presence (Content Creation, Blogging), and Professional Growth (Tech Entrepreneurship, Career Clinics). The journey includes AI bootcamps, school outreaches, and innovation challenges, culminating in the launch of the WaGiTECH Mentors Network to ensure a sustainable, female-led digital future in Uganda.
