Girls in ICT DayThrough its Women in Digital strategy and the annual International Girls in ICT Day, FPS Economy works to increase the presence of women in ICT and STEM sectors in Belgium and to encourage young people to consider careers in digital fields.This year, the event focuses on the role of girls and young women in the development of artificial intelligence.The event is structured in three parts:Two opening keynotesBehind the Scenes of AI: an accessible introduction to what artificial intelligence really is, the different types of AI systems, why data are so important, and how biases — including gender stereotypes — can become embedded.Gaming and AI: the role of women in the gaming industry, the use of AI in this sector, and the challenges related to representation.Interactive workshopsIn small groups of around 15 participants, attendees will engage in hands-on, experiential activities on topics such as:Algorithms and their impact on daily lifeThe art of promptingAI and ethicsAI in creative and cultural industriesHow AI is transforming the labor marketStudent video presentationsThe event will also feature short videos produced by higher education
