Description of the event

Girls Voices Initiative, She Code Africa, and the TechWomen Nigeria Alumni Association are pleased to embark on a partnership outreach to mark the 2023 International Girls in ICT Day.The outreach project would target 50 public secondary schoolgirls with digital skills training and inspiration on careers and opportunities in the STEM industry. Also, the outreach will inspire future empowerment programs for girls and surveys will be collected to inform future interventions. The goal of this project is to promote STEM skills for adolescent girls.Specific Objectives include to:1. Strengthen partnerships between actors in the STEM development field to significantly close the gender digital divide.2. Improve STEM skills for vulnerable adolescent girls3. Increase the capacity for girls to explore STEM careers in futureThe above goals will be accomplished by undertaking the following activities: 1. STEM outreach event with adolescent girls to inspire STEM careers for girls2. Conduct assessment surveys to collect information about the beneficiaries’ needs3. Conduct STEM training to build girls’ skills
