Digital Skills Training for Girls

Description of the event
|
We will run a 1-day coding boot camp to train 80 girls aged 14-18 years in Tamale totechnology, digital skills, coding, and opportunities in the technology and digital space. Wewould start the project with a feasibility study of the participants to understand what their current digital strengths are and what they hope the outcome of the training will be. The study will also help us understand their access to devices, cost factors for going online and other opportunities digital skills will unlock in their communities.The project will draw on best practices, lessons, and approaches that may attract more girls and young women into the ICT sector. We will introduce the girls to Female role models in the tech industry in Ghana, the array of tech jobs available, and the different pathways into the ICT sector and increase interest to studies in the area, of ICT.The boot camp will run from 9 am to 3 pm. Soronko will take a team of 4 members, 40 laptops, a projector, an internet router, notebooks, pens, sticky notes, A4 sheets, and markers for the training session. We will have a maximum of 10 alumni we have trained in tech and digital skills in Tamale
