Description of the event
|
On Girls' Day, schoolgirls can get to know professions in which only a few women have worked so far. These are primarily professions in the areas of IT, trades, natural sciences and technology. Or they meet female role models in management positions in business and politics. Girls' Day is aimed at girls from the fifth grade upwards. Girls' Day is open to all girls up to class 13.On the occasion of the day of action, companies, businesses, universities and research institutes throughout Germany open their doors to schoolgirls from secondary level I onwards every year. On Girls' Day, the girls get to know apprenticeships and courses of study in IT, crafts, natural sciences and technology in which women have been previously are still rarely represented. The participants experience in laboratories, offices and workshops how exciting the work is there. In workshops and activities, the girls gain insight into everyday life in the company and put their skills to the test. They receive direct answers to their questions and can make initial contacts.
