Description of the event
|
The National Computer Board (NCB) operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, TertiaryEducation, Science and Technology is organising a Short Video Competition (SVC) to celebrate International Girls in ICT Day 2023.International Girls in ICT Day is an annual event celebrated on the fourth Thursday of April to encourage and empower girls and young women to pursue careers in information and communicationtechnologies (ICT). The event aims to raise awareness about the gender gap in the ICT sector andinspire girls to consider ICT-related careers. International Girls in ICT Day will be celebrated on 27thApril 2023 by International Telecommunication Union (ITU).The theme for the 2023 edition “Digital Skills for Life” has been identified by ITU in consultationwith youth to encourage girls and young women to thrive in Science, Technology,Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers.
