Description of the event
|
The event is organized for inspiring and encouraging girls to pursue careers in IT. Participants will be teams of 4 girls from grades 10-12 of high scools in North Cyprus.There will be two sessions: seminars and competition. The seminars will be given by the Academic staff of Eastern Meditrerranean University. The seminar topics will include Metaverse, new communication technologies and future professions, Ethics in technology and the ethical use of data, the security of data, crime and punishment, the use of data as a criminal element in informatics, and finally the journey of data from generation, dissemination and storage. The teams will be given a problem and will be asked to make a short presentation about the IT solution they envision. Solutions will be evaluated by a jury. All participants will be given internet access package in accordance with the theme of the year. Additionally a "Technology Tour" including the switchboard building and sample base station will be organized in accordance with the meaning of the day.
