Description of the event
|
The Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs, through the Chief Administrative Secretary Maureen Mbaka will join the global community in celebrating the day by hosting a virtual event through Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) on Thursday, April 22nd,2021. According to ITU, girls across the world tend to outperform boys in reading and writing skills, yet they continue to be under-represented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Through International Girls in ICT Day, the organization is working with partners to build awareness about the gender digital divide, support technology education and skills training, and encourage more girls and young women to actively pursue careers in STEM. We hereby invite you to join the webinar as we explore ways to mentor young girls to increase their presence in the sector.
