Description of the event
|
Gender Studies o.p.s. (based in Prague) has been holding a special event celebrating the Girls in ICT Day for nine years. This year on April 22, despite the pandemic of Covid-19 more than 140 young girls (between the ages of 15 – 25) will be participating in varied online programmes of different ICT companies in Czech Republic.This year, we encourage girls to try new skills and engage in various creative technologies through online workshops and talks on creative coding, software development, 3D virtual reality, construction, electrical design and new technologies. Gender Studies actively participates with local schools and companies in order to empower and encourage young women to consider ICT and STEM studies and profession. Girls meet inspirational female role models and have the opportunity to talk to them and network for their future career. The aim is to encourage girls' interest in technical fields and to show that research and technologies are not only a good way to be economically independent but also a fun.
