Description of the event
|
Youth for Technology Foundation- Kenya- is hosting a virtual event for Girls in ICT Day 2021. This event supports 100 girls, between the ages of 15 and 20, and who are from marginalized communities of Nairobi, Machakos and Kiambu counties with digital literacy and coding skills. Primarily, participants are registered in our Skills for Their Future program, in partnership with Theirworld but the event is open all girls across Kenya in the above age bracket who can register here (bit.ly/3dEvPvk) to attend. The virtual event is scheduled from 3P.M.-4:30P.M. EAT. There will be 3 distinct sessions; an interactive training workshop, mentorship and career sessions and a "women voices" session. The interactive workshop will consist of online training and a demo of coding projects. Women in technology from YTF's private sector partners will give short career talks/speed mentoring and YTF alumni will share their success stories as young women in STEM, "women voices."Join us to empower and unlock economic opportunity for the next generation of marginalized girls and young women, through scalable skills programs relevant in the fourth industrial revolution.
