INTRODUCTORY COURSE TO DATA SCIENCE FOR GIRLS. This course begins with engaging activities introducing girls to Data Science using the theme of endangered animals. They look at different examples of data generated in our everyday life and learn how this information is used for educational purposes. From there, girls investigate specific data in regard to disappearing species. During the course, the tutor encourages girls to think critically by showing how numbers can be easily manipulated by media. By the end of the course, girls develop the understanding on what is data, how it is generated and why is it so valuable.
