| Description of the event: Conference " Raising Voice of Women in ICT" This one day conference was organized by Women in Information Technology (WIIT) in Hotel Akama, Kathmandu and around 120 women, girls and men participated in the conference. The program wasconducted with the main objective of discussing and raising voice for thepositive change in society to incorporate more and more women in thedevelopment process of the country through ICT. The specific objectives were: · Experience sharing on promoting women in ICT · Discussion on the challenges and opportunitiesfor Women in ICT · Develop networking of prominent leaders of womenand girls in ICT Opening session: speech from lady deputy mayor of Kathmandu metropolitan city and other various dignified speakers Session 1: Economic empowerment of women through ICT related jobs and ICT education for empowering girls Panel Discussion 1) on Promoting women as professionals and entrepreneurs in ICT Panel Discussion 2) on strategic use of ICT in education, development for empowering women Session 4: Emerging women leaders in ICT presentations The conference was supported by Nepal Telecom Authority, Nepal Telecom, Vianet and Yomari.
