Description of the event
The international day of young girls in the ICT sector was established following the revision of Resolution 70 by the plenipotentiary conference of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) which was held in Gualajara in Mexico in October 2010. This event, celebrated each year on the fourth Thursday of April, aims to make young girls aware of the career opportunities offered by the new information and communication technology sector. We are going to celebrate this day with the participation of at least 150 girls from 20 secondary schools in the city of N'Djamena. These girls will be chosen in collaboration with the heads of establishments. A week of training will be devoted to girls to allow them to familiarize themselves with the tools of ICT, to discover the opportunities that these technonologies can offer. Girls will be trained on online dangers and their capacity strengthened on online protection. During the school holidays, these same girls will benefit from training on coding if the means allow us. At the celebration of the day, on April 23, 2020, panels will be created to allow exchanges between girls and actors of the ICT sector in Chad. Audio and video advertising spots will be mounted for wide distribution on public and private radios and also on the antennas of private and public televisions.
