Turhan: Services are being offered online in order for "Turkey to stay home" - 16/03/2020

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Cahit Turhan stated that some services were being offered over the internet and the phone, by establishments connected and affiliated to the ministry. He noted, “In order to slow the spread of the new type of Coronavirus, COVID-19, we have added new services to existing services, which were being provided over the internet and the phone. We will continue our efforts to protect citizens until the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic decreases.” Minister Turhan in his statement made to a state agency news reporter, stated that in order to support the call made for “Turkey to stay home,” which started because of COVID-19 pandemic, they gave the order for services affiliated with the ministry to be offered over the internet and the telephone. Turhan who noted that in order for information and communication technologies to be delivered in an effective and efficient manner to citizens, businesses and public institutions, the e-Government Portal was put into effect to deliver these public services, and in this context, as of today, about 46 million registered uses are offered 5,023 services by 649 institutions and organizations, he added that 2,524 service were being offered via mobile.
