MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATIONS OPERATORS WILL OFFE FREE ACCESS TO OFFICIAL CORONAVIRUS CONTENT - 20/03/2020

Mobile internet users will be able to visit the Federal Government's information portal on the COVID-19 pandemic, without consuming data on their balance. The Institute will continue to work together with the industry and other authorities to guarantee the continuity of telecommunications services at all times, in order to assist in efforts to disseminate priority messages on health matters, as well as keep the population connected to emergency situations. As a result of the meeting called by the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT), and which was held this Wednesday, March 18 between authorities of the Federal Government, academia and the telecommunications industry of Mexico, an agreement was reached by which Mobile operators AT&T, Telefónica, Telcel and Altán Redes will allow their users free access, without consuming data from their balance, to the contents of the page https://coronavirus.gob.mx. The foregoing, in coordination with the Ministry of Communications and Transportation.
