Around the world today, the coronavirus situation is having a significant impact on peoples’ daily lives, transforming the way we work, study, relax, and interact. Now more than ever, connectivity has a vital role to play in keeping people informed, engaged, and in touch with colleagues, classmates, friends, and family. As Russia’s leading mobile connectivity provider, MTS is proud to be helping our customers address the challenges they are currently facing. Over the past several weeks, we have taken a number of proactive steps to enhance access to much-needed services. In particular, we have begun offering a variety of services at zero cost on a temporary basis, including: 1) Free online urgent care consultations with a doctor or pediatrician via our SmartМed telemedicine app. 2) Free calls from anywhere on the planet for MTS subscribers when dialing dozens of airlines or the Russian Foreign Ministry’s hotline. 3) A free mental wellness hotline created together in partnership with psychology experts from leading Russian universities. Free data traffic to official government information resources, such as the Russian Ministry of Health. 4) Free inbound calls for all subscribers, including pay-as-you-go users with zero or negative balances. 5) Free data traffic for leading online educational platforms, such as Coursera and Geek Brains, as well as prominent cultural organizations, such as the Marinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. 6) Free preparatory materials for Russia’s national university admission examination via our SmartUniversity app. 7) Free online master classes for children to engage with artists as part of our “Generation M” corporate social responsibility initiative, including a joint program with Moscow’s Tretyakov Art Gallery.
