| As South Africa went into an extreme and effective COVID-19 lockdown we opened the V-NET network to the public in two informal settlements and created a landing page on our network in Monwabisi park, Khayelitsha. Monwabisi Park is an informal settlement or 'slum' of 10,000 households on the outskirts of Cape Town. The landing page provides links to the national zero-data-rated COVID-19 website as well as a range of offline content (stored on a local server) including Wikipedia(in 4 languages), a curated library of resources, and number of other local services for communications and knowledge transfer. |
