In relation to the Electronic Communications sector, ARME decided to allocate additional spectrum to mobile communications operators, at no additional cost, as long as this COVID-19 situation continues, in order to strengthen its 3G and 4G networks, to meet the exceptional demand for traffic of voice and data and also ensure the quality of service parameters. ARME also decided to authorize, during this period, the implementation of technological neutrality in the 900 MHz band so that, and depending on the operators' needs, 3G could also be used. This means that, during this period, operators are free to use this frequency band (900 MHz), intended to reinforce their 2G, 3G and 4G networks.
