Mr Brelotte Ba General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Orange Mali Biography Mr Brelotte Ba was appointed General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Orange Mali in August 2018. He is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris. He joined Orange Sonatel Group in 2001, where he successively held several positions, including that of Director of Management Control, and Marketing Director of Orange Guinea in 2007. Ms Doreen Bogdan-Martin Director ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau Biography Doreen Bogdan-Martin was elected Director of the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau in November 2018 and took office on the 1 of January 2019. She is a strategic leader with 30 years' of high-level experience in international and inter-governmental relations, and a long history of success in policy and strategy development, analysis and execution. From 2008-2018, she led the Strategic Planning & Membership Department of ITU, and also served as Coordinator of United Nations Affairs. She was one of the architects of the annual Global Symposium for Regulators and leads ITU's contribution to the EQUALS Global Partnership for Gender Equality in the Digital Age. She serves as Executive Director of the UN Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development, and is leading ITU's collaboration with UNICEF and others on the GIGA project to connect the world's school. She holds a Master's degree in International Communications Policy from the American University in Washington, DC and a post graduate certificate in Strategies for Leadertship from the Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland. She is an affiliate of the Harvard University Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society , and a Generation Unlimited Champion. She serves on a number of advisory bodies, including the Geneva Tsingua Initiative, the SDG Lab Advisory Board, and the UN Technology Innovation Labs . She is also an amateur radio operator. Ms Wendy Mars President of Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia Cisco Biography Wendy Mars is President of Cisco’s Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia region. Her responsibilities focus on driving strategies, which deliver on customer requirements and business objectives, in addition to accelerating growth for Cisco in EMEAR. Wendy is responsible for over $12billion of annual sales, managing operations across 123 countries with over 13,000 employees in the region overall. In her previous role at Cisco, Wendy led the Partner and Enterprise strategy for EMEAR. She managed teams specializing in technology architecture, scalable consumption and software. Prior to this, Wendy led the data center and virtualization teams in EMEAR for several years, after initially joining Cisco as a Systems Engineer Director for the UK and Ireland organization. Wendy is a passionate supporter of women in business, particularly technology, and is the Executive Sponsor of Cisco’s Connected Women community. She understands the talent and skills challenges facing the technology industry and firmly believes in culture as a driver of digital transformation and differentiation. Ms Sanda Ojiambo Executive Director and CEO UN Global Compact Biography Sanda Ojiambo is the Executive Director of the United Nations Global Compact. Launched in July 2000, the United Nations Global Compact is the Secretary‑General’s strategic policy and advocacy initiative calling for the alignment of business operations and strategies with 10 universal principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. It also motivates companies to integrate the SDGs into their core business strategies and operations. With more than 10,000 corporate participants and other stakeholders from over 160 countries engaged through 68 country networks, the Compact is the largest voluntary corporate sustainability initiative in the world. Endorsed by chief executive officers, it is a practical framework for the development, implementation and disclosure of sustainability policies and practices, committing businesses to sustainability and shared responsibility for achieving a better world. Ms. Ojiambo brings 20 years of experience to lead the UN Global Compact. She has served as Head of Sustainable Business and Social Impact, Safaricom Plc, Kenya since 2010.
